Integration / Apache Pulsar Interview questions
What is Business iQ / Analytics in AppDynamics?
Business iQ (delivered through the Analytics Agent and Analytics UI) lets teams query and visualize transaction and log data using business-relevant dimensions — things like promo code, customer segment, or product SKU — rather than only the technical dimensions (tier, node, response time) the core APM product exposes by default.
It works by capturing richer, higher-cardinality data than standard metrics storage is designed for, indexing it so ad-hoc searches and custom analytics dashboards can slice performance and business outcomes together — for example, correlating cart abandonment rate directly with backend response time for a specific checkout Business Transaction.
The distinction from core APM is important: core metrics and health rules are optimized for real-time alerting on a small, predefined set of dimensions, while Business iQ is built for open-ended, exploratory questions across much richer data, which is why the two are complementary rather than one replacing the other.
