What is the difference between a Tier and a Node in AppDynamics?
These two terms describe different levels of AppDynamics' monitoring hierarchy, and mixing them up is a common source of confusion for people new to the platform.

In practice, when you add a fourth server behind your load balancer for the same service, you get a fourth node under the same existing tier — you don't create a new tier for it.
