API / Venafi Interview questions
What is Venafi Zero Touch PKI?
Zero Touch PKI is a Venafi capability aimed at issuing certificates to devices and workloads with essentially no manual enrollment step by a human operator.
Instead of someone filling out a request form, an eligible device or service authenticates itself (using an existing trusted credential, a platform attestation, or a pre-shared bootstrap secret) and the certificate is issued automatically according to policy — the "zero touch" refers to removing the human from the routine issuance path, not to removing security controls.
It's aimed squarely at situations where manual enrollment doesn't scale: onboarding thousands of IoT devices, provisioning fleets of VPN clients, or issuing identities to ephemeral workloads that come and go faster than a person could ever click through a portal.
