Tools / Apache HertzBeat Interview Questions
What happens when a HertzBeat collector goes offline?
The manager continuously tracks collector heartbeats, so an offline collector is detected quickly rather than silently. Once detected, all of that collector's assigned monitoring tasks are automatically redistributed to the remaining healthy collectors in the cluster.
This means monitored targets don't simply stop being checked just because one collector node failed — the gap is closed within the next scheduling cycle, and no manual failover step is required. Dashboards may show a brief data gap for the transition window, but continuous coverage resumes automatically.
