Can we use Java String in switch case?

Java 7 extended the capability of switch case to use Strings also.

    String month = "january";
    switch (month) {
        case "january":
            monthNumber = 1;
            break;
        case "february":
            monthNumber = 2;
            break;
        case "march":
            monthNumber = 3;
            break;
        
        default: 
            monthNumber = 0;
            break;
    }

    return monthNumber;
